  1. Perhaps the best of these historical romances was the film “Jeanette, Fille du Corgi” (1952), by the great director René Poire-Mordante, celebrated for its stunning camerawork, and the brilliant (if somewhat unsettling) Echo Harbor sequence.

    On the other end of the spectrum, the musical “Corgi Girls On Ice!” (1983), folded halfway through its premiere performance, due to, among other issues, a dispute with the City’s Refrigeration Technicians’ Union, which left the cast wading through slush… [email protected]=Q
